Overhead Press with a Twist

Being able to put your arms overhead with weight is something we all need to be able to do.

But people who have suffered a variety of shoulder injuries may not be able to do so comfortably. So what then? Give up entirely on moving your arms overhead? No!

As always, avoid things that hurt. Do the movements you can do, but never give up on regaining movement patterns. Maybe you can’t put your arms straight over head, but can you move them up on an angle?

If you can, try doing that and see if eventually you can put them straight up in a traditional overhead press.

If that still doesn’t work for you try pressing overhead with a slight twist, like this:
