How To Get Exercise At Your Desk

by Megan K on May 20, 2012

If you’re stuck at your desk for most of your day, you may experience neck, shoulder, wrist and forearm discomfort. And it could be that you are like some of my clients who are desperate to find a way to get some movement in at your desk to break up the monotony of being seated-all day.

I realize that for most people it likely isn’t feasible to bust out multiple rounds of squats, lunges and push-ups in your cubicle or beside your desk. This is particularly true, if you have a tiny work space, a strict boss or are on the phone most of the day. That being said, there is nothing stopping you from incorporating a more subtle desk exercise routine that includes some flowing stretches to help loosen up your upper body and neck.

Try adding some of these movement patterns to your work day and see if it helps you reduce stress and ease repetitive use upper body discomfort.

In good health,
Megan K
