2011 First Quarter Progress Report

by Megan K on April 11, 2011

We are one quarter of the way through 2011 which I find hard to believe considering I still write 2010 when I put the date on things!

I set some pretty awesome goals for myself at the beginning of the year.

This is what they were:

10 Unassisted chin-ups
5 Unassisted Pull-ups
Deadlift 2xs body weight
Bench press 100lbs for reps
Snatch the 16kg bell
Run an 8 minute mile comfortably and with a smile on my face.
Climb the rope at the Movement Minneapolis.

I didn’t write down my physique goals because I wasn’t really sure that I had any aside from getting my body composition to 18% body fat, but for the remainder of the year I am adding some: 19 inch thighs (at the widest part), adding one inch to my shoulders, adding an inch to my back and dropping my hip measurement one more inch.

My progress thus far:
Last week I did 10 unassisted chin-ups.
They were not consecutive, so that is my next goal.

Three days ago I did 1 unassisted pull-up.
4 more to go.

I took a little break from deadlifting because it wasn’t as exciting for me anymore, but the last time I checked I was at 1.5xs my body weight.

I have climbed the rope at the Movement Minneapolis 5 times now.

This was me doing it the very first time. Now it is easy.

My comfortable working weight for my bench press is 75-80lbs, which means I get closer to 100lbs every workout.

I can comfortably snatch the 12kg kettlebell, as of two weeks ago and three weeks ago I cleaned and jerked the 16kg bell for reps. Soon I will be ready to snatch the 16kg bell.

The snow has finally melted so I will pick up my running again in a week or two.

And last but certainly not least, this past week I hit 18% body fat. Down 1% in one month.

Do you have fitness goals? It is important to have some.
Write them down and refer back to them to keep yourself on track for maximal progress.

In good health,
Megan K
